Overview
A grammar guru takes her pop-up grammar advice stand on a hilarious road trip across all 50 states to show that comma fights can bring us closer together in a divided time. After the film, Peter Sagal, host of NPR’s “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!”, will lead a Q&A with Brandt and Ellen. This special screening will take place April 30th @ 7pm. Tickets are $25.

Movie summary
One fall day in 2018, Ellen Jovin set up a folding table on a Manhattan sidewalk with a homemade sign that said “Grammar Table.” Right away, passersby began excitedly asking questions, telling stories, and filing complaints. What happened next is the stuff of grammar legend. Ellen and her filmmaker husband, Brandt Johnson, took the table on the road, visiting all 50 states as Brandt shot the grammar action. But this story transcends grammar. It’s the story of an epic quest to bring us closer together in a divided time. Q&A with Ellen and Brandt after the film!

Bio Ellen Jovin
Ellen Jovin (Harvard College ’87) is the creator of the Grammar Table and the author of the 2022 national bestseller Rebel with a Clause: Tales and Tips from a Roving Grammarian (HarperCollins). She is married to Brandt Johnson, who is the film’s producer, director, cinematographer, and editor. Together they run a communication skills training firm in New York City called Syntaxis.
